For your birthday this year organize something that will make a difference in the lives of many. Ask your friends and family to make a contribution to our cause on Facebook through Facebook’s Birthday Wish campaign. With only 10 minutes of your time, you can turn your birthday into an opportunity to raise awareness, and get others involved in change you believe in.

My birthday’s coming up and to celebrate, I created a Birthday Wish through Facebook where my friends and family can help me raise money for a cause that I care deeply about, Rising Minds.

Rising Minds mission is to address need in communities, locally and abroad, through the integration of education, awareness, and action. We do this through exchange-based volunteer programs, proactive international partnerships, and personalized educational outreach.

Rising Minds is actively working to empower people to create change and improve international relations through heightening awareness, personalizing global issues, and providing experiences (be that immersion-based trips or educational events) that illuminate how our individual actions have worldwide impacts. This year we working to develop additional international partnerships based on exchange, respect, and sustainability.

With your support we will be able to meet our goals for 2011 of…

…Providing (a minimum of) 3 micro-loans to international entrepreneurs/change-makers that display passion, commitment, and dedication towards running a self-sustainable educational or business initiative.

…Offering (a minimum of) 10 scholarships to volunteers who are passionate about making local change, and supporting international development through hands-on, exchange-based volunteer work.

…Developing additional partnerships throughout Central America with programs dedicated to bettering communities and improving international relations.
